New Post-Emergence Herbicide ‘Brucia’ Introduced for Maize Farmers in India
UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions has officially launched Brucia, a next generation post-emergence herbicide, specifically developed for maize production within India. Brucia provides a significant hassle-free weed management solution for maize farmers through its ability to help control resistant and hard-to-kill weeds.
At the launch event held with key channel partners in Karnataka, Brucia was introduced to the market and immediately available through dealers and distributors throughout major maize production districts in India.
Brucia (Tolpyralate 40% W/V SC) delivers fast and effective control over a wide spectrum of broadleaf and grassy weeds at a low dose of just 50 ml per acre, ideally applied between the 2- to 4-leaf stage of weeds. By reducing manual labour and safeguarding crops during the crucial early growth phase, it helps farmers achieve higher productivity and better profitability.
Calling Brucia a “game changer” for maize growers, Biswajit Borah, Herbicides Portfolio Lead, said:
“We developed Brucia to meet the growing challenges of weed resistance and climate variability. This solution is cost-effective, easy to use, and ensures maize crops are protected at the most critical early stages.”
Jagadeesh Yerneni, Business Head – South & East, added:
“Our initial focus is on Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, but we plan to expand to more districts across South India. We are committed to supporting smallholder farmers with innovative crop protection technologies that help them overcome climate and crop loss challenges.”
With its efficiency, lower labour requirements, and ability to safeguard early-stage maize crops, Brucia is set to redefine weed control practices for maize farmers in India.
